2017 Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign

The 2017 Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign is underway! This campaign, coordinated by the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, gives BCFS and foods shelves across the state an extra boost to get through the summer months, when use is higher and donations are lower. All donations of food and funds will be tallied and will receive a partial match through the campaign. Funds raised will be used to purchase food, pay utilities and generally keep our doors open over the summer. We find that about 70% of families use the food shelf only 1-4 times a year, which shows us that they come because they need to and not simply because they can. Please consider helping us serve the nearly 3,000 families who are in need of our services throughout the year.

Thank you!

Open Your Heart July Challenge

Many folks in our area face special challenges during the summer months. With more mouths to feed over summer vacation, families may not eat as much or as healthy as they should. The Bemidji Community Food Shelf (BCFS) helps fill the hunger gap in Beltrami County.

BCFS is again participating in the Open Your Heart July Challenge. This campaign is sponsored by Hunger Solutions and the Open Your Heart for the Hungry and Homeless Campaign. They will award us up to $5,000 based on the donations we receive in July.

Because we participate in special programs, we can do a lot with a dollar! Help us help our neighbors this July. Even small amounts make a difference. To donate, you can use the donation options on this website or mail us a check to:
